We’ve been following the magical alt-pop trail of Transylvanian artist Jinka ever since she put out her magnetic debut ‘Trash From The Past’, later followed by ‘Flesh To White To Black To Flesh’ and ‘Shock Mounted’. Now this left-field musician is back with a pulsating, dance-pop tune that’s as surprisingly, odd and enjoyable as her previous tracks. ‘Countdown Forever’ hops with the steady energy of space-age synths and punchy beats, the repetitive structure emulating the continuous passage of time. Even when the track diverges into a futuristic club anthem around 1:40, we never lose touch with the second-ticking beat. It’s a incredibly playful track, that Jinka herself explains as “an illusional state of infinite hedonistic experience." - HT
